About Me

Author, Artist, and Eclectic Homesteader

My Story

I am an author, artist, and eclectic homesteader. By day, I am a professional dog trainer and owner of REACH K9; by night, I weave tales of history, mystery, and adventure. Writing, for me,  is a way to explore and organize the beautiful torrent of a neurodivergent mind. It is a passion that has been with me through every season of life. My love for stories is matched only by my love for the land and animals.

A graduate of Skidmore College with a degree in English Literature, I am the author of the beloved canine retellings of The Canterbury Tails and Edgar Allen Paw.

My debut original novel, The Lion’s Key, fulfills a dream sparked two decades ago on the steps of the New York Public Library. It was there, under the stoic gaze of the stone lions Patience and Fortitude, that the seed of the story was planted, waiting patiently through all of life’s adventures.

Today, I write from my small farm in Central Virginia, where I live with my husband and a lively menagerie of animals.

"Stories are my way of exploring the world—its history, its mysteries, and the bonds that connect us to animals and to each other."
